The Ministry of Technical and Higher Education has informed newsmen of various developments in the education sector among them is the student loan scheme that will commence this academic year.
According to the Minister, Professor Alpha Wurie, the scheme will target postgraduate students employed by the government of Sierra Leone and TVET among others.
He made this disclosure at a press conference held in the Bintumani Conference Hall Aberdeen in Freetown.
In line with the Government development blueprint, Education for Human Capital Development, the Chinese Government has awarded scholarships and grants to over One Hundred and Twenty students and Pupils from Tertiary Institutions, Primary and Junior Secondary Schools across the country in support of their academic pursuits.
The ceremony which took place at the Bintumani Conference Hall Aberdeen was graced by the Ministers of Basic and Higher and Technical Education and parents.
